Recording Control
Camera type
Select the camera protocol. Reboot required to apply.
Camera matching
How to pick a camera when the preferred (last-connected) one isn't the only one found during scan.
Prevent camera wake-up
GoPro only. Don't connect to a camera whose advertisement shows it's asleep/powered-down — a BLE connection attempt would otherwise wake it. A manually selected camera below still connects regardless.
Stop recording when trigger turns off
ARM trigger: stop on DISARM. AUX trigger: stop when the selected AUX goes low. Turn this off to keep recording after the trigger turns off.
Low power mode
Low BLE TX power: -12 dBm (about 0.063 mW). Normal mode uses +9 dBm (about 7.9 mW). Lower power means shorter range but less RF interference with the flight controller's RC receiver. On by default. Reboot required to apply.
WiFi config AP
Auto-start this configuration access point when no camera is connected. Off = never auto-start (holding the BOOT button still forces it on).
s start delay
AUX Switches
Stop delay
Delay between the recording trigger turning off and stopping the camera. ARM: after DISARM. AUX: after the selected AUX goes low. 0 = stop immediately.
ms
Recording Trigger
Choose what starts/stops camera recording. ARM is the default. With an AUX channel, high starts recording and low stops it using the same stop delay below.
Camera Switch V1.0.2
One simple three-position AUX control. GoPro uses native saved presets; DJI Action cameras use supported shooting modes; Osmo Nano also exposes Panorama and SuperNight from hardware-captured DUML mode values.
Camera Switch AUX Channel
Choose the 3-position AUX switch to use. LOW <1300, MIDDLE 1300-1700, HIGH >1700 µs.
LOW / MIDDLE / HIGH
Assign what each switch position should select. GoPro: discover and choose native saved presets. Supported DJI cameras: choose the exposed shooting modes.
Connect the camera first.
Show selection name in OSD
Show the selected preset or mode name for about 2.5 seconds when the Camera Switch changes.
Display in
Choose which enabled OSD destination shows the temporary Camera Switch selection.
GoPro uses native saved presets. DJI Action 4 / 5 Pro / 6 uses supported shooting modes. CamBuddy exposes only modes with verified switch values; camera modes without a verified command are deliberately not guessed. Osmo Nano now exposes its hardware-captured DUML shooting modes (Video, Slow Motion, Timelapse, Hyperlapse, Photo, Panorama and SuperNight). Native DJI saved Custom Modes remain disabled until a verified recall command is available.
More info — how Camera Switch works & camera testing status
How it works: Camera Switch uses one 3-position AUX channel. LOW is below 1300 µs, MIDDLE is 1300–1700 µs and HIGH is above 1700 µs. Each position stores a camera-specific selection ID. A value of 0 means unassigned.
OSD notification: After CamBuddy accepts a Camera Switch change it temporarily shows only the selection name, for example POV or Custom, in the selected OSD Display in destination for about 2.5 seconds, then automatically restores the normal OSD template. Critical camera warnings keep priority. If a selection ID was entered manually and has no saved name, the OSD safely falls back to LOW/MID/HIGH.
Discovery: While a supported camera is connected, use Discover Camera Options above to ask the camera for the presets or modes CamBuddy can currently use. Assign the returned entries to LOW, MIDDLE and HIGH, then save/apply the settings. The Wi-Fi AP configurator cannot perform live discovery because camera BLE is deliberately stopped while AP mode is active, but it can view, edit and save the same persistent profile IDs.
GoPro: Native saved preset discovery, named preset selection, LOW/MIDDLE/HIGH AUX switching and persistence have been tested on real hardware and are working. GoPro is currently the fully hardware-confirmed implementation.
DJI Action 4 / 5 Pro / 6: V1.0.2 exposes the verified basic shooting modes (Video, Slow Motion, Timelapse, Hyperlapse and Photo) through the same Camera Switch. Other modes visible on the camera are not exposed until their switch values are verified. Genuine DJI saved Custom Modes 1–5 have been identified in camera status, but their safe recall command is still under investigation, so native Custom Mode switching is not yet implemented or hardware-confirmed.
Osmo Nano: Native BLE DUML pairing, ARM-triggered recording and core telemetry are hardware-confirmed. Camera Switch now exposes the hardware-captured Nano shooting modes Video, Slow Motion, Timelapse, Hyperlapse, Photo, Panorama and SuperNight through native DUML 0x02/0xE1. The implementation is ready for real Nano hardware validation; it is not yet claimed hardware-confirmed.
Other cameras: Insta360 Camera Switch selections are not currently implemented. Profile IDs are camera/model-specific and should not be copied between different cameras unless explicitly supported.

Betaflight 4.5 Compatibility
BF4.5 mode
Betaflight 4.5 has no Custom Message 1-4 OSD fields. When on, the OSD Templates above stop being sent and Pilot Name / Craft Name are used instead.
Pilot Name
Disabled by default so Betaflight keeps your normal Pilot Name. Sent only when enabled and BF4.5 mode is on.
Craft Name
Fallback template used when state-aware mode is OFF. Sent only when BF4.5 mode is on.
Custom Message
Optional message shown periodically. Leave blank to disable.
Only before first arm
Stop showing after the first arm until the next power cycle.

Camera warnings
Low battery, low recording-time and camera-hot warnings.
%
min
Camera-hot uses camera over-temperature status automatically.
Caddx Wi-Fi Network
The camera's own Wi-Fi SSID/password (same network you'd join from the phone's Wi-Fi settings for the CaddxFPV app). Saving adds it to the list below. Reboot required to apply.
